This page collects Easter Eggs and other hidden stuff in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
At the very beginning of the game, you encounter the classic Animal Crossing cat named Rover on the train. This intro is very similar to the one in the original Animal Crossing in 2002, and at the end of your conversation, Rover mentions it.
A certain pink dresser you can acquire in the game has a Nintendo GameCube and library of games attached. You can’t do anything with it, but it’s a neat easter egg, anyway.
Also, giving it to Cyrus to change its color will also affect the color of the GameCube: Pink/Indigo, Blue/Black, Beige/Spice, and Black/Platinum.
EditPaper Mario the Thousand Year Door Reference
After rescuing Gulliver and reminding him of where he was headed, he could possibly say the following line, which references a character from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
Gulliver also mentions Ricco Harbor, one of the levels in Super Mario Sunshine.
Gulliver will also mention the “Overthere”, the place where people go when they die in the Super Paper Mario universe.
Gulliver has many references including an earthbound reference in which he says, “fuzzy pickle”, a phase said by the camera man before taking your picture in EarthBound.
